And those inside it are craving to get out.’ This holds true, for so many single people, dying to tie the knot maybe envisioning a perfect life post-marriage.My simplistic explanation on why this behaviour is tolerated comes down to the arranged marriage.The men I have observed undertaking this behaviour tend to be of lesser socio-economic means, and in my rudimentary understanding of the intricacies of Indian culture, I believe they are more likely to have an arranged marriage.It is only after marriage that they realize that it comes with its own set of problems. Staying single is a choice that Indian women are choosing in increasing numbers, as they refuse to settle for less than satisfying relationships.

Women’s rights are secured under the Constitution of India — mainly, equality, dignity, and freedom from discrimination; further, India has various statutes governing the rights of women., the President of India, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha (Lower House of the parliament) were women.
