Checked MP_on the management point, but MP didn`t receive any file for processing. Intermittent component between client and MP is IIS, so I checked the IIS logs and found below error for the BITS upload when the client is uploading the files. So I checked the permission for CCM_incoming virtual directory and its folder - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\CCM\Incoming. So what I did is assinged read \ write permission for the IUSR account and this resolved the issue.
on the clients indicated that it had indeed ran (for the right amount of time) and had then exited with code 0.
Tho obvious answer for this was IIS, so we turned on IIS logging for the MP server and sent the Hinv again.
Within a few seconds we saw: part of this message immediately made us think there might be a problem with BITS on the client.
So went ahead to look at Management point logs (Mp_hinv.log) , I see below message. Hinv: class name not found in the mapping table: Client SW Hinv: the report could not be processed completely due to unknown classes or properties - it may be obsolete After spending so much time in troubleshooting this, I tried initiating a Full hardware inventory action using the script available here Monitor logs, this time problem solved.
Do i need to initiate Full Hardware inventory on all the clients ? For Some Reason, MP could not able to process /Update the delta inventory information collected from the client into Database.
