Co-hosted by Fast Life International, the event is designed for singles aged 25 to 45 who are looking to bring some new romance into their lives.
After students have completed the process, they will rank books deciding which book to begin reading immediately and which ones to add to their reading list.
More than 100 composers and musicians filed into a fast-shrinking auditorium at the Peabody Institute as part of the New Music Gathering conference over the weekend. As directed composers — clutching scores, laptops and headphones — fill an outer ring of chairs while musicians seat themselves in the inner ring directly across from them. “But if you meet someone you don’t like, wait three minutes and maybe the next one will be better.” And with that, they’re off. It’s the kind of standard question first dates are made of.

Do dress to impress: It is important to dress nice, but not too fancy.
I set the timer for anywhere between two to four minutes depending on the students, and the book dating begins.
Students make notes on first impressions of the cover, the inside jacket blurb, and possibly even the first paragraph or two.
So, in addition to the people you’ll speed date one-on-one, you'll also have the opportunity to mingle with 70 singles at the after party!
