To enable Auto Complete, choose Auto Text from the Insert menu.
Then, select Auto Text and click the Auto Text tab. If users know what to expect from both features, they're more apt to apply them correctly.
Or you can provide a couple of macros that do exactly what your users need, without the confusion the built-in features sometimes cause.
If Auto Complete doesn't work, someone has probably disabled the feature.
By default, Libre Office automatically corrects many common typing errors and applies formatting while you type.
When you use the Insert Date tool to add a date into a document, by default Word inserts the DATE field.
For example, the entry 1.1 may be interpreted as January 1 of the current year, according to the locale settings of your operating system, and then displayed according to the date format applied to the cell.
To ensure that an entry is interpreted as text, add an apostrophe at the beginning of the entry. Choose Tools - Auto Correct - Auto Correct Options.
Microsoft Excel is preprogrammed to make it easier to enter dates. This is very frustrating when you enter something that you don't want changed to a date. This way Excel will not try to change what you enter into dates.
Preformat the cells you want to enter numbers into as Text.
