The latter can for example be very useful for bindings in Styles and Control Templates and when you want to bind to some property in a parent element.
A workaround that I found for this was to add a Key Up event to the required Text Box and update the binding in code behind.
By default any binding for a Text Box is not updated until the field loses focus.
This didn’t suit my needs for an application I’m currently working on because I wanted the Binding source to be updated whenever something is entered into the Text Box.
OK, so the title is a little ambitious, but there is nothing wrong with setting yourself lofty aims!
